These bikers on the left are couriers. There are 160 thousand of them in the city according to what my guide said, and each day one of them dies. But the city can't stop using their services. The traffic often is so heavy that the only ways to get from point A to point B is either by squeezing between the lines on a bike, or by hiring a helicopter taxi. Of all the cities in the world, Sao Paulo has the largest helicopter fleet.
